The first Dricus du Plessis vs. Sean Strickland fight happened a year ago – and was a real thriller. The fight lasted for 25 minutes, after which the South African won by a split decision.

It’s needless to say that Strickland wasn’t pleased with the judges’ decision. He landed significantly more strikes than his opponent, but du Plessis landed six takedowns, which is what swayed the judges.

Fast-forward to February 8 and Strickland is determined to get his payback. You can be certain that he’s going to throw everything he’s got at du Plessis. He’s almost certainly going to do better wrestling-wise, and if the fight goes the distance again, we think the judges will score in his favor

Zhang Weili vs. Tatiana Suarez – Biggest Fight in Tatiana’s MMA Career

Tatiana Suarez has only fought two fights in the last five and a half years, with her last trip to the Octagon happening in summer 2023. It doesn’t sound great, but on the bright side, she won both of those fights.

In fact, Suarez is 10-0 overall, with wins over some elite opponents like Jessica Andrade, Carla Esparza, and Alexa Grasso. All of those are former champions; can she beat another one this coming Saturday?

We think she can. She’s one of the best wrestlers/grapplers in women’s MMA and even has decent boxing skills. The same applies to Zhang Weili, but we think Suarez will be way more motivated.

This is the biggest fight of her career, and we think she’s going to win it.

We predict there will be some upsets at UFC 312. First off, we think Tom Nolan will beat Viacheslav Borschev. It’s because the Aussie fighter looked great in his last couple of fights – the same doesn’t apply to his opponent.

We also predict a big upset in the Topuria vs. Thicknesse bout. Ilia Topuria’s brother just isn’t as good as his bro. Plus, Colby Thicknesse is 7-0 overall and is fighting in his hometown on Saturday.

For all the other fights, we think favorites will get the job easily. This goes especially for Gabriel Santos and Kevin Jousset, who we think will steamroll their opponents.
