The United Football League kicks off its 2025 season with an exciting matchup between the San Antonio Brahmas and the Arlington Renegades on Mar. 29 at 3 p.m. CT at Choctaw Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Both teams aim to set a positive tone for the season in this highly anticipated opener.

Brahmas Want A Strong Start

Under the leadership of head coach Wade Phillips, the Brahmas have built a reputation for a formidable defense and a balanced offensive attack.

Key defensive players include inside linebackers Tavante Beckett and Jordan Williams, who were instrumental in making the Brahmas the top-ranked defense in multiple categories last season.

On offense, wide receiver Jontre Kirklin returns as a primary target, having led the team with 56 receptions for 614 yards in the previous season.

The Brahmas have also bolstered their roster with new talent, including defensive back Greedy Williams and wide receiver Greg Ward, both bringing NFL experience.

Renegades Want To Improve Off Middling Year

The Arlington Renegades, under the leadership of head coach Bob Stoops, are poised to make a significant impact in the 2025 UFL season. Building upon their 2024 campaign, the Renegades have focused on strengthening both their offensive and defensive units to enhance overall performance.

Quarterback Luis Perez returns as the starter, having led the UFL in passing yards, touchdowns, passer rating, and completions in 2024. Supporting Perez is a versatile receiving corps, including wide receivers Tyler Vaughns and Jordan Smallwood, both known for their route-running precision and reliable hands.

The Renegades have also made strategic roster adjustments with the inclusion of Teton Saltes, a tackle from New Mexico. Defensively, the team has added depth with players like linebacker B.J. Bello from Illinois State and defensive tackle Trevon Coley from Florida Atlantic.

These additions aim to address the challenges faced in the previous season and build a more competitive squad.

San Antonio Brahmas vs Arlington Renegades Pick

Given the Brahmas’ strong defensive lineup and the Renegades’ offensive capabilities under Perez, this season opener promises to be a closely contested game. The Brahmas’ recent additions and returning talent may provide them with a slight edge. However, the Renegades’ home-field advantage and offensive potential make this matchup unpredictable.
