One of the games on Thursday’s NBA slate features the Indiana Pacers hosting the Cleveland Cavaliers. Will Indiana extend its win winning streak in our Pacers vs Cavaliers pick?
Pacers Aiming For Sixth Straight Win
Following a 21-point loss against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Mar. 29, the Pacers have reeled off five straight wins, including a 104-98 victory against the Washington Wizards on Tuesday night.
Tyrese Haliburton set the one for the offense with 22 points and six assists on 5-for-11 shooting from the field and a 9-for-11 effort from the charity stripe.
Pascal Siakam stuffed the stat sheet, finishing with 24 points, 10 rebounds, three assists, and two steals. Myles Turner chipped in with 14 points and 11 boards.
With the game knotted at 92 in the fourth quarter, Siakam hit a basket to give the Pacers a two-point advantage. Aaron Nesmith and Turner hit clutch 3-point baskets that gave Indiana a 100-94 lead with 53 seconds left to play.
Cavaliers Shooting For Consecutive Wins Against Divisional Opponents
After a somewhat surprising seven-point loss against the Sacramento Kings, the Cavaliers bounced back with a dominating 135-113 win over the Chicago Bulls.
Darius Garland was one of five players, including three starters, who reached double figures. He led the way with 28 points, five assists, three rebounds and knocked down six of his 10 attempts from 3-point range.
Evan Mobley finished with an impressive stat line that included 21 points, 11 boards, and seven dimes. Ty Jerome and De’Andre Hunter led the second unit with 18 and 17 points, respectively.
After a close opening quarter in which the Cavs led 25-24, they took control of the contest for good in the second quarter. During an eight-minute span, Cleveland outscored Chicago by a decisive 41-21 margin. The burst gave the home team a 20-point advantage at the break. Garland buried four 3-pointers during the crucial stretch.
Pacers vs Cavaliers Pick: Who Has The Edge In This Divisional Showdown?
Thanks partly to their recent win streak, the Pacers are 8-2 in their last 10 games. Although they are a mediocre defensive team (18th in points allowed), the Pacers come into this matchup with the seventh-highest scoring average at 117.5 points per outing.
On the other hand, the Cavaliers have produced seven victories in their previous 10 contests. Cleveland is a top-10 defensive squad and boasts the top offense in the association, putting up 122.2 points per 100 possessions.
Both teams have won three times in the last six matchups. The Cavs have locked up the top spot and have little to play for, so look for Indiana to win here.
