For years Wayne Gretzky's 894-goal record was considered one of the most unbreakable records in sports. Gretzky remains the most talented player to ever grace the ice, but he's been surpassed as the supreme goal scorer.
Alex Ovechkin's recent takeover of the top spot with 895 goals cements his already Hall-of-Fame career in the record books. Not only that, but Ovechkin hasn't shown many signs of slowing down, even at 39-years-old. It's not out of the realm of possibility that he could still be playing in a few seasons at 41, pushing close to 1,000 total goals.
Do you think Ovechkin can reach 1,000 before retirement? I honestly think he will barring any major setbacks.
