One of the games on tap from Sunday night’s NBA slate features the Milwaukee Bucks hosting the Memphis Grizzlies. Can Milwaukee end its losing skid in our Bucks vs Grizzlies pick?
Bucks Have Struggled In Previous Two Losses
After a four-point victory over the Utah Jazz on Jan. 27, the Bucks have dropped their last two games. This includes a 144-118 loss at the hands of the San Antonio Spurs.
Giannis Antetokounmpo had a monster game, to say the least. He scored 35 points, pulled down 14 rebounds, and handed out six assists.
Damian Lillard pumped in 22 points to go along with seven assists. Khris Middleton led the bench unit with an efficient 21-point outing. He shot 8-for-9 from the field and 3-for-4 from beyond the arc.
In a first half in which the teams combined for 141 points, Milwaukee led by a slim 71-70 margin. San Antonio turned it up a notch after the break, outscoring its opponent by a 74-47 margin overall, including a 45-30 advantage in the third quarter.
Additionally, the Spurs posted a 31-6 advantage in fast-break points and outscored Milwaukee 72-36 from 3-point range.
Memphis Aiming For Second Straight Victory
On the other side of this matchup, the Grizzlies bounced back from a 143-106 loss against the New York Knicks with a 120-119 victory over the Houston Rockets on Thursday night.
Memphis had six double-digit scorers in that contest. Desmond Bane scored a team-high 24 points, making 11 of his 24 shot attempts. He also tallied 12 rebounds and six assists.
Luke Kennard added 22 points on 60 percent shooting from the floor and 50 percent from behind the 3-point line. Jaren Jackson Jr. finished with 21 points, four rebounds, and four assists.
Houston took a double-digit lead (66-56) into halftime in a battle between Western Conference playoff contenders. However, the momentum shifted in the second half.
Fast forward the fourth quarter, the Rockets led 119-118. Following an errant timeout called by the officials, Jackson drove to the basket and was fouled with 8.6 seconds left to play.
He knocked down the free throws, and Memphis got its first win over Houston in four tries this season.
Bucks vs Grizzlies Pick: Memphis Gets Seventh Straight “W” Against Milwaukee
Following a five-game winning streak, the Bucks have dropped three of their previous four games. Each of those losses was by a double-digit margin.
Meanwhile, besides the embarrassing 37-point loss against the Knicks, the Grizzlies have been playing well, posting eight wins in their previous 10 games.
Memphis owns the league’s top-scoring offense (123.2 PPG), the fifth-best offensive rating (118.1 Points Per 100 Possessions), and the seventh-best defensive rating.
The Grizzlies have won six straight in this series. Given the Bucks’ recent struggles, that trend will continue in this matchup.
