Ajax have won eleven of their last 13 matches against Turkish teams, while Galatasary are winless in their last five against Dutch sides. However, the visitors are the top-scoring team in the Europa League this term, which is hard to ignore. A key trend is the fact that eight of Galatasaray’s last eleven away matches have ended in draws.

Athletic Bilbao vs. Viktoria Plzen

Bilbao looks to be among the standout Europa League picks this week. The Spanish side have never lost a home match against Czech sides in a European fixture, and they have won eleven of their last 14 home matches. That includes three wins in succession without conceding.

Ferencvaros vs. AZ

Ferencvaros have recorded wins in five of their last eight home matches in the Europa League. That could be the important angle worth following, as AZ have lost six of their last eight away from home in Europe, and have scored just four on the road since November 2019.

Maccabi Tel Aviv vs. Porto

Maccabi Tel Aviv have suffered defeats in four previous matches against Portuguese sides. However, Porto have struggled on the road in recent seasons, winning just one of their last 15. Therefore, there could be value in the points being shared on Thursday.

Nice vs. Bodo/Glimt

Nice’s winless home record stands at four matches, but they have never gone five without a win in Europe. Bodo/Glimt have excelled in home matches this season, but their away record remains rocky after winning just three of their last 24. The narrow preference is for the French hosts.

Midtjylland vs. Fenerbahce

Midtjylland have suffered two defeats in their last four Europa League home matches. Fenerbahce have been consistent on the road in recent European matches, winning three of their last six. That could make the Turkish side one of the best value Europa League picks on Thursday.

Olympiacos vs. Qarabag

Qarabag avoided defeat in both Europa League matches against Olympiacos in the 2022-23 season, and they are unbeaten in four previous encounters against Greek sides. However, Olympiacos’ home record looks to be the angle worth following, as they have lost just one of their last nine.

Real Sociedad vs. PAOK

Real Sociedad have won their last two at home, and could win three successive matches in front of their own fans in Europe for the first time since 2003. The quality that the home side has at their disposal means that it is hard to overlook Sociedad in this MD8 clash.

Rangers vs. St. Gilloise

Rangers have a 100% record in home matches against teams from Belgium. The chances of a home win are enhanced based on the fact that St. Gilloise have lost three of their last four against Scottish teams. Rangers have also lost just two of their last 18 matches at Ibrox at this stage of the competition.

Lyon vs. Ludogorets

Lyon boast an excellent home record at this stage of the season, winning eleven of their last 15. The chances of an away win appear to be slim. Ludogorets have failed to score in their last four on the road in Europe.

Anderlecht vs. Hoffenheim

Anderlecht have suffered defeats in 13 of their last 19 meetings against German sides. However, the visitors are winless in their last five on the road. Therefore, a chance is taken on Anderlecht to extend their unbeaten home run in Europe to nine matches.

Dynamo Kiev vs. Rigas

Dynamo Kiev are one of three sides that are yet to win in the Europa League this season. They have gone 21 without a victory, losing on 18 occasions. Rigas have never won an away match in six attempts and have lost five on the bounce. Difficult to fancy either side, but narrow preference is for the hosts.

Braga vs. Lazio

Lazio have suffered defeats on five of their last seven trips to Portugal. But, the Italian side come into this round after winning their last three on the road. Meanwhile, they are the standout team in the competition after winning six from seven in the league phase. But, the trends could point to value in the draw.

Slavia Prague vs. Malmo

Malmo have suffered defeats in five of their six matches against Czech clubs. However, Slavia have suffered defeats in three of their last four home matches. But, the preference is for the hosts, as Malmo have suffered losses in 21 of their last 26 European away matches.

Tottenham vs. Elfsborg

Despite domestic issues, Tottenham have avoided defeat in their last 16 home matches in Europe. But, three of their last five have ended in draws. However, it is hard to fancy the away win, as Elfsborg have lost seven of their last eight on the road.

Twente vs. Besiktas

Twente have suffered defeats in each of their last two home matches. Besiktas were excellent in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first match against Bilbao last weekend, and we could see them recording a win to progress to the next stage in Europe for the first time since 2017-18.
