  • These teams last played on Mar. 27, 2024, with the Warriors claiming a 101-93 victory.

Another game on tap from Monday night’s NBA slate features the Golden State Warriors hosting the Orlando Magic. Can Golden State get back on track in our Warriors vs Magic pick?

Dubs Aim to Bounce Back From Woeful Showing Against Phoenix

The Warriors enter this tilt on the heels of a 130-105 shellacking at the hands of the Phoenix Suns on Friday night. Andrew Wiggins led the way with 17 points, eight rebounds, and six assists on 6-for-20 shooting from the floor.

Stephen Curry added 14 points but needed 14 shots to accomplish his output. And the four-time NBA champ connected on just one of his six attempts from beyond the arc.

Buddy Hield contributed 13 points on a 5-for-7 effort overall and 3-for-5 from 3-point range. Golden State trailed by 11 points after the first 24 minutes of action and was outscored by a 68-54 margin in the second half.

Furthermore, Phoenix enjoyed a decisive 56-36 edge in the paint.

Magic Aim To Make Losing Skid Disappear

On the other side of this matchup, following a 121-113 win over the Detroit Pistons on Jan. 25, the Magic have dropped their last three contests. This includes a 113-99 loss to the Utah Jazz on Saturday night.

Orlando struggled offensively, with just two players reaching double figures. Franz Wagner set the tone with 37 points and six rebounds.

Cole Anthony led the bench unit with 23 points, seven rebounds, and four assists on 7-for-11 shooting from the floor and 2-for-5 from long range.

The Magic fell behind by double digits in the first half and never recovered as the team shot 33 percent from the field and a woeful 22 percent from distance.

Warriors vs Magic Pick: Golden State Defeats Struggling Orlando

While the Warriors have hovered around the .500 mark after a hot 12-3 start, this group boasts a top-10 defense.

Meanwhile, along with their three-game losing streak, the Magic have lost eight of their previous 10 contests.

From a scoring perspective, the Magic are ranked last in scoring and 29th in offensive rating. Defensively, Orlando has the second-best scoring defense and has the third-best defensive rating.

Golden State is not a team that strikes fear in the hearts of its opponents these days. But given the Magic’s struggles, the Warriors get the win here, albeit by a slim margin.
