Two showdowns against Terence Crawford have already been announced, with the first of those being staged in September. However, before then, the Mexican challenges William Scull to regain the IBF super middleweight title.

Alvarez has been one of the dominant forces in world boxing throughout his career, winning 62 of his 66 professional fights, and holding world championships across four different divisions. The Mexican is also the only boxer in history to have been the undisputed champion in the super middleweight division.

Alvarez will be the clear favorite to score victory, and he comes into this bout after winning each of his last five. The latest of those was scored by a unanimous decision against Edgar Berlanga in Las Vegas in September.

A win for Scull would go down as one of the biggest shocks that boxing has ever seen. The Cuban, who fights out of Germany, is the reigning IBF super middleweight champion, and he has a perfect professional record after winning all 23 of his fights.

Scull has been the mandatory challenger for the IBF title since 2024, but Canelo dropped the title, which set up a showdown against Vladimir Shishkin in Germany last year. Scull’s record reads impressively well, but this will be the first time that he has come up against one of the world’s best.
