The Constructors’ Championship was one of the most intriguing narratives at the end of the previous season, with McLaren ultimately ending their long wait for success after out-scoring Ferrari at the season-ending Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. But, will there be more success for the British team in 2025?

Formula 1 Constructors’ Championship Contenders

The battle for the Constructors’ Championship went to the wire in 2024, with McLaren eventually keeping their cool in Abu Dhabi to win a first title since 1998.

That was always their big goal for the campaign, and that was reflected in their strategic decisions in relation to orders given to Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris.

Regaining the title looks like a tall order this year, with the contenders lining up on all sides. However, it would appear that they have kept with the same plan that served them well in 2024, which should bode well, as they were undeniably the quickest car on the grid throughout the season.

But, it could be argued that Ferrari should have been closer. A drop off in reliability was evident after Charles Leclerc’s win in Monaco, with both cars finishing off the podium in four of the following five races. If that reliability is improved, they look like the team to beat.

Red Bull will certainly be aided by having two cars competing for points this season, with Sergio Perez’s form seeing him not score any points in four of the last five races. Huge pressure will be put on Liam Lawson.

Mercedes also struggled with reliability throughout the season, but winning four races would have given them confidence. Aston Martin is also fascinating following the appointment of Adrian Newey, but his plans will likely focus on the 2026 season, when regulations change once again.

Formula 1 Constructors’ Championship 2025 Pick

In truth, I see this season being a fight between McLaren and Ferrari.

The preference is for the latter, who will be competing for regular wins with Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton joining forces.

The Italian team wasn’t far away last season, and they look good value to win a first Constructors’ Championship since 2008 in 2025.
