Event Preview

Excitement levels ahead of the second major of the season will be increasing over the next couple of weeks, beginning with the prestigious CJ Cup, which will be held at TPC Craig Ranch across the coming weekend.

A talented field will be involved this weekend, as a total distance of 7,468 yards will be covered in Texas. A number of returning champions will be involved, including last year’s winner Taylor Pendrith, who held off Ben Kohles to win by a shot in 2024.

Si Woo Kim is one of the leading chances worth considering this weekend. The South Korean has never won at TPC Craig Ranch, but he boasts some fine course form that should leave him in contention. Among those include a tie for second.

Sungjae Im is also worth considering. His recent form is strong after finishing in a tie for fifth at The Masters, and a top 12 finish at the RBC Heritage.

Sam Burns could also be set for a big showing this weekend. He was second in this event in 2021, and his momentum is building, which could make him a dangerous play at TPC Craig Ranch.

The CJ Cup Picks

While we may not like the favorite in this year’s Kentucky Derby, Scottie Scheffler is a selection at the top of the prices that we favor this weekend. The world number one is yet to win this year, but he holds excellent previous course experience, which dates back to his PGA Tour debut in 2014.
