Event Preview

The Goodyear 400 will be staged this weekend, with the field competing over a total distance of 400.238 miles. This weekend’s race distance will be covered by a total of 293 laps, with the final stage seeing the concluding 108 laps completed.

David Pearson is the most successful driver in the history of the race. The Goodyear 400 made its long-awaited return to the NASCAR schedule in 2020, with Kevin Harvick and Denny Hamlin landing wins across the same weekend.

It has been a thrilling start to the 2025 season, and there is already a wide-open feel at the top of the standings. William Byron continues to lead the way, but his 22nd finish in the Cook Out 400 has enabled the chasing pack to close the gap.

Kyle Larson continued his strong form with another reliable outing last Sunday, taking fifth after winning the Straight Talk Wireless 400 seven days earlier. Christopher Bell is also hard to discount after finishing second last weekend, meaning that he has now finished in the top two spots in four of the last six races.

Denny Hamlin was the dominant winner of the Cook Out 400 last weekend, as we predicted in our prediction article. Hamlin remains sixth in the standings, but he has now finished in the top five in three of the last four races.

Goodyear 400 Picks

We like the chances of Chase Elliott this weekend. Elliott finished fourth in last weekend’s Cook Out 400, meaning that he has finished in the top ten in four of the last five races. His consistency could be rewarded with a first win in the Goodyear 400 on Sunday.
