Detroit faltered down the stretch in the series opener, but remained composed in a gritty 100-94 Game 2 victory to even the series at 1-1.
Cade Cunningham was virtually unstoppable. He scored a team-high 33 points on 11-for-21 shooting from the field. He also tallied 12 rebounds, three assists, and two steals.
Tobias Harris and Jalen Duren rounded out the scoring effort for the starters, finishing with 15 and 12 points, respectively. Dennis Schroder added 20 points off the bench.
On the other side of the matchup, Jalen Brunson put up a game-high 37 points and handed out seven assists.
Mikal Bridges logged 19 points, five rebounds, and three steals. OG Anunoby, Karl-Anthony Towns, and Josh Hart chipped in with 10 points each.
Like the series opener, the Pistons led by eight points heading into the final frame. But this time, they had an answer each time the Knicks tried to rally. As a result, Detroit snapped its 15-game postseason losing streak.
